Ontario FBC Hub Members

Welcome to the Federation of Black Canadians! 

Mission

The Federation of Black Canadians (FBC) is a national, non-profit organization, driven by Black organizations across the country. The Federation of Black Canadians advances the social, economic, political and cultural interests of Canadians of African descent.

The overarching mantra is that we are “Stronger Together” – Nothing About Us Without Us

What is an FBC Hub:

In order to connect black Canadians across Canada within the Federation (FBC) and to ensure the National FBC body can connect with its members across provinces, local FBC groups exist to allow for a regional/local connection, engagement, and advocacy feeding up into their Provincial Chapter and ultimately the National FBC Board. 

Hubs are mandated to:

  • Engage and educate their community around local/ provincial and national issues and opportunities dealing with the Black community
  • Engage and educate their community around National FBC advocacy priorities and opportunities
  • Create a leadership group that as able to manage - administration, engagement, and policy of the hub
  • Create a leadership group that coordinates and meets with other hubs within its Province as part of that Provinces Provincial Chapter
  • Support the National FBC in dispersing information, opportunities, and supports

By endorsing this form the Federation agrees to:

  • Provide platforms to hear from you within your local hub, listen to your viewpoints and concerns along with the broader community
  • Acknowledge your membership via a personal profile and provide updates and opportunities for dialogue 
  • Recognize you as a Hub Member of the Ontario Hub 001
  • Recognize you as a general member of the national body of the FBC

Hub Membership Details:

By endorsing this form you are forthright a General Member (1 year re-newable term) of the Ontario Hub 001 of the Federation of Black Canadians and are therefore entitled to all of the membership privileges of Hub Member including but not limited to:

  1. Receiving a membership online profile
  2. Receiving a quarterly newsletter
  3. Receiving any FBC surveys regarding (needs of the community, advocacy, events, news and follow-ups)
  4. Receive invites to any town hall discussions in your region
